Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American producer and actor, is well-known for her role in the film Ray Undercover Brother as well as in The Mentalist. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Brown University in African-American Studies. At the Tisch School of the Arts, New York University she obtained an MFA. Aunjanue Ellis is an American actor and producer active in film, theater, and television. She began acting on stage and then appeared in mainstream, independent, and TV series. Her most famous role was Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico in addition to appearing on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. For both of these roles she received critical acclaim and a variety of nominations and awards, including her first award, the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. In 1995 she made her acting debut with The Tempest as Ariel. Her credits on stage include the Broadway production of the Joe Turner musical Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. Coming to her movie career she is renowned for her roles in films such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express and The Help. For her work on television she has been praised for her performance in the role of a character who is a regular on ABC's police drama High Incident.
